THE VALUE OF A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER

What’s the value of a professional photographer?

With the convenience of capturing great looking images via the Iphone or mobile phones with Carl-Zeiss lens inbuilt into their front and back camera? I believe many people will have this comparison at the back of their minds on why should we engage a professional photographer if it is so easy these days. Snap, snap and call it done, anyone could do it.

You can’t be further than the truth because the comparison is very vast. It’s similar to comparing first class seats to economy seats, they are still seats on an aircraft but clearly the value given to first class is very different compared to economy. Could a person who owns a camera equipment and being able to snap some images be called a photographer or could than a person studying math be automatically titled as a Mathematician. Clearly not.

There must be some distinct criterias to distinct between a hobbyist to a professional and why they charge the way they do.

  • Professional Photographers practices their art 100% of the time.

  • Professional Photographers are able to put together the right equipments under the right lighting conditions to produce the effect they desire in their minds or from their client’s references.

  • Professional Photographers are able to look for focus areas to have their images speak louder than words

  • Professional Photographers rely 100% on their photography work as their only source of income. So they don’t have a fallback plan as compared to Hobbyist.

To my readers, I hope you have received some helpful insights from the distinction between a hobbyist to a person who have went PRO and also assigning the right value to them. Speaking about value, we value New Zealand for combating COVID-19 as it is official that everyone is cleared.

With Much Love,
