PHOTOGRAPHY RECOVERING FROM COVID

Thoughts of the week: Can the photography industry recover from COVID?

kindness_visualmemoir

This week we want to share this nagging thought over all our minds, what will life be like for the photography industry post covid? People are separated from larger community and spending power of people are reduced due, wedding postpones etc. No one really knows what’s next? Creative sectors like us are getting a big hit due to cancelled gigs and no doubt it is an intense moment for everyone. Not only the photography industry.

So what can we really do? How can we really recover from this? At the moment no one can really give you or ourselves a 100% satisfactory answer over the “what-ifs” because no one has seen such an impact on the global economy before. The safety blanket we once had before seems like no longer and everyone is brought out to the front-line firing squad. Feeling of being overwhelm and anxiousness starts to engulf your thoughts.

STOP.

Let’s take a step back and stop thinking about the fear and uncertainty. Stop feeding the black hole of feelings that could spiral down. Everyone you need to know this situation is temporary and it won’t go on forever. So what can we do now?

Here’s a list of what you can do?

  • For customers - support local businesses. Spread the word, Spread the love.

  • For photographers - continue to be active in photography around your community. Continue to practice, continue to shoot. Don’t give up!

  • As the whole world is going onto the online platform, continue to increase your online presence through blogs, instagrams or facebook. Keep connected to your audience.

We know this is a tremendous period you are going through. Keep the faith and the hope to believe all things will work out in your favor.
